Day 1 - Flying east.

For the long weekend, we flew to East Malaysia for weekend getaway. When we arrived at the airport, it was pretty packed with people. I guess it's due to the long holidays. One of the airline staff saw us with a baby in the line and let us check-in at the priority counter. That helped us a lot. :) Yeay for priority lanes!

As usual we requested for bassinet seats. We even brought our car seat over. We check it in together with our luggage.

The thing I love about flying with MAS, is being able to push my stroller until the gates. They will then tag the stroller and we are required to drop before we board the plane.

The flight wasn't too bad. Lucas slept for about 45 mins to an hour but was woken up by the aromatic smell of the food being served. He enjoyed looking out the window & pointed at clouds that passed by, climbed up and down and all over me... *_* oh well, anything goes, as long as he doesn't fuss and cry throughout the journey.

We finally arrived at our destination. The airport was not very big, quite similar to the one in Penang. We provided our ID cards to the customs & were given a slip of entrance to enter the state. Passports are not required for Malaysians travelling to East Malaysia.

We took a taxi to our hotel & it costs us RM30 for the trip. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Kota Kinabalu & it's located at the heart of the city (15mins away from the airport). As the room we booked was a Club King, we get to access the club lounge the whole day for refreshments. The view form the hotel was magnificent. We were lucky the weather was great during the whole duration of our trip.

Guess who enjoys the bathtub the most?

We had a good rest and head for dinner with a friend at 7pm. He even bought us some quirky looking fruits to try out. Top right/left is the Durian Hutan (Wild durian) It has a sweet pungent smell and the texture is much more sticky compared to the normal durians we have in peninsular. The bottom right/left is called Tarap. Local fruits at both Sabah & Sarawak. I kind of love the taste of the Tarap. It's sweet & reminds me of apple custard. :)

That's pretty much what we did for Day 1.
