Full Moon

25 Feb 2012 - Ahh yes... my lil baby is one month old! Despite the fact that my eyes still hurt & are swollen, we proceed with the full moon ritual. So we drove back to Kampar. It was Lucas' first "long haul" trip. It was manageable... He slept pretty much through the journey, woke up for feeding half way. He looked so tiny in his car seat... :)

In Kampar, we just had some simple prayers to the ancestors & a simple dinner with the family.

For Penang's celebration, we had a buffet at our place. I designed a simple invitation for the party.

I wanted to make a nice sweet table but didn't really make it happened. I was so zombified and I wasn't allowed to go anywhere during confinement.

Me & my swollen eye. +_+ I look awful!
The confinement centre deserves to be sued... hmmph!

Lucas must be thinking "Are we done yet mummy? So tiring..." :)

Rewind : Our lil guy

January 2012 - It's still clear in my mind the day the Dr. told me my baby's position is breached. It will be most likely & recommended to have a c-section to avoid any complications during delivery if the water breaks. Dr Ma also said that 2/10 babies are breached. I was quite disappointed when I knew I couldn't deliver my baby naturally. All my life i really wanted to experience what it was like to deliver a baby naturally. I tried everything I could during the last stage of my pregnancy. From putting legs up to talking to baby, to doing exercises that was recommended on the internet. But Week after Week, during the weekly check-ups, i was disappointed. Once the baby turn down 90deg, which was sideways but then he turn back up. So reluctantly, I had to agree to a scheduled c-sec. 31 January (9th day of Chinese New Year). The day my lil angel was born. I remembered crying when I heard his first cry. Hubby signalled me with a Thumbs - up in the OR indicating everything was well (yup he was there to witness the whole operation *will blog about this later*).

When we held this little guy in our hands, we felt he was so tiny and fragile.

He had a rough month when he contracted conjunctivitis from the confinement centre. It was really heart breaking to see someone so small, barely 10 days old with swollen eyes. He was one tough cookie and didn’t fuss much despite the pain he was going through…

How do i know about the pain? I know because Alex and I both contracted it as well a few days after him. It was so badly swollen, tearing and bleeding. I was practically a zombie mum caring for the little one and caring for myself.

After that episode was over, I was glad that we were able to see his beautiful eyes after 2 weeks…

A little something about me

A little something about me :
I'm a mother to a beautiful boy named Lucas. I used to work in a MNC but quit my job and am now a full time mum. Apart from caring for my son, I'm also a wedding photographer, proud owner and founder of Favor-it-shop & co-owner of Cardpuccino. Art is my passion. I love to create & make beautiful things.

I think that currently I have too many things on my plate & am struggling to keep up with time & a growing toddler. I'm still very much in a position where I'm still soul searching & I couldn't decide which path is suitable for me to pursue. But one thing I'm sure is that I want to be there for my little one.

About this blog:
I hope to capture the little moments of my life as a mummy here. Random thoughts about my son, my life & my family. Perhaps still not too late although my son is now almost 16months. Will start blogging about Lucas from Day 1... and work my way till today. As my memory gets fuzzy overtime, hopefully this blog will help me recollect my memories in the future. :)
